"We don't need no stinkin' badges". A great line from the Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles".
I challenged myself with only painting using either paper towels or a pallet knife. No brushes used except for the signature. Surprisingly paper towels work really well. Nothing to clean. Just grab a new one and get busy. They blend paint really well. I work in acrylic so the paint dried quickly and it shows no marks. So the next time you want to try a new experience....use a roll of paper towels. Don't limit your paintings to what you think they should be painted with but instead just try using different material to apply the paint. And today I actually ran out of the good strong paper towels and only had some really cheap ones. Not something I'd recommend. Gonna paint with paper towels?....then get good ones. So anyway, back to me running out of strong paper towels today. I used a wash cloth instead. Actually worked better than the aforementioned paper towels. So I'm learning all new kinds of materials to paint with.
To see some of my paintings that were created only using paper towels as the brush and in some instances a palette knife as well:
